Very nice demo, those shadows look darn near perfect. Though don't you think you used a bit too much specularity? Looks like someone smeared vasoline over everything

This technique can also be used in out door scenes. (ie. the sun moves along a fixed course)

See the Nvidia "Last chance gas" demo for a example of this.

I think the light swings too fast. It's hard to inspect how well the shadows are done.
