That is a good question with WGF I was lately thinking the same, how can OpenGL co-exist with that unless someone writes a wrapper for OpenGL translated and then going through the WGF layer. It is definetly a smart move by M$. Well even so there will be a lot of troublesome faces in the game industry when they start to have fighting over 3D resources

OpenGL will still live on. In fact, Microsoft is upgrading the OpenGL support to 1.2 (whoohoo! In 2030 they might get to 1.3 if we're lucky
