Congrats, game deserves it, you guys did an excellent job. The PC version has been in the top 3 of my Steam top sellers list for nearly a week now as well so it looks like a hit on all formats.

"To me it's clear that OpenGL is back on track again."

The words i wanted to hear for years Lately it seemed that i'm losing interest in OpenGL - now i'm back at reading OpenGL.org and such pages daily, as i did before

We use DX10.1 to boost performance. It allows us to use fewer draw calls.

Cudasax: Those features exist only because we cooperated with Nvidia. Without it they would not have been in the game in the first place. Of course, I think they could be implemented using compute shaders too, but they were created by Nvidia, not by us, so it's not so strange they made them in Cuda, which btw also makes it run fine on DX10 cards and not just the new DX11 ones.

the problem with OpenGL3 was that some of the hardware features they were using with aqua was conflicting with OGL3.0 and OpenCL.

this has been fixed in OGL3.3 and that's what version will be in OS 10.6 in near the future (+/-1.5month from now)

now all we need is ID's John Carmack to support some of the new stuff in rage.
it would be seriously lame if he stayed stuck on opengl 2.1 just for the sake of compatibility.
