"You have a choice between the natural stability of gold and the honesty and intelligence of the members of government. And with all due respect for those gentlemen, I advise you, as long as the capitalist system lasts, vote for gold."

The fire effect in your demo is indeed very good. I think a spherical harmonics lighting demo would look awesome when it's done by you. It is a lot of work though.

Very briefly:
Deferred Shading
Soft shadows (not very interested but...)
Shadow Volume Reconstruction
Advanced portal rendering (like mirrors
or teleports realized trough portals)

suggestion: making an spherical harmonics lighting demo (that renders real world geometriy and not only objects)

No, I don't have any insider info. I don't know any more than anyone else. I'm guessing it's going to be on an ATI card simply because I've got work there, just waiting for the work permit. Not sure I will play much with competitor products then. But we still don't know the capabilities of R420 vs NV40 either, so there no use to speculate.

Hmmmm....
The OpenGL Shading Language definitely ROCKS !

Thanks a lot for keeping up coding nice OpenGL demos, I'm getting even more motivated for my own projects.

Nice work !

I'd love to see you do something like an outdoor scene that shows off some nice graphical effects that you have shown off in your pervious demos. You could even incorporate the sky that Gavin was talking about. And of course have some grass (tall and short) that waves in the "wind" along with trees that do the same. Maybe even have a cabin that you can enter. I'd really just like to see you begin to tackle more complex scenes. Don't get me wrong, you have done some pretty complex effects and what not, and I love everything you have done so far, I learn a lot from your demos. But, it would be nice to see scenes that are complex as in multiple things are going on (collision detection, multiple areas/effects, culling, etc, etc). Use your imaginagtion. It would just be cool to see things along those lines. And do it in OpenGL. Nah just kidding you can do it in either one, but I myself prefer OpenGL. Anyways, kudos to your skills.

I'd like to see your real-time soft shadow demo, too.

I'd like to see what you come up with for realtime soft shadows
